Good morning Athens!

This morning we took a walk to our host school, College Year in Athens, also known as CYA.

This program hosts students and student groups from many countries to spend a week, or up to a year in Athens.

Their college is located next to an original olympic marble stadium and across the street from the National Garden! We viewed the stadium and then explored the garden, seeing wildlife, flowers and many cultural shops. After we got to explore the area for a couple hours, CYA hosted us for lunch!

This afternoon was spent exploring the Acropolis of Athens, including the museum & Parthenon!

So much beauty, history, wildlife, and sun!

The acropolis was crazy, the sheer height, size and beauty of this site and museum could have kept us engaged for an entire day. The climb up the Acropolis was not nearly as hard as it looks, and we got to do it with Dr.rAthena from CYA. She taught us all the little facts, as well as gave a step by step through the history of this site. After this long, walking-filled day, CYA took us to a restaurant for dinner. Free appetizers, salads, dinner, desserts and wine! What a wonderful first full day!
